I love Melrose Flash. Rhododendron’ Direct introduced me to this plant two years ago. I live in Bend, OR which is a zone 5. ( The hardiness rating of Melrose Flash is only zero degrees.) I cover the 5 plants in the late fall with green “tents”. They are about 24 inches high. Each of the two springs I’ve had Melrose Flash, some of which has been in the single digits during the preceding winter for a week or two, the five rhododendrons Melrose Flash rhodos have opened their buds and put on a beautiful display in the mid-spring. I recommend it highly. The color of the flowers is really extraordinary.
